Great-granddaughter of Judith Carter Horton, the face of our 2023 commemorative button, Kimberly Johnson Wooden, was asked to be the 2023 ‘89er Parade Marshal, and she has graciously accepted. Ms. Wooden and her husband Wayne currently live in Houston, Texas. Their son, Stephen is a 737 Captain with United Airlines. His wife is also a commercial pilot.... READ MORE >>>

The "First In State" Fun Run is hosted by the cadets in the '89er Battalion, Guthrie High School JROTC. The Guthrie JROTC program is the first JROTC program in the State of Oklahoma, dating back to 1935. As a fun run, we encourage competitive runners, recreational runners as well as walkers; walk your dog, push a stroller or simply enjoy the fellowship of your friends and neighbors. Chuck Wagon Feed and Rodeo Events Returning to 2023 '89ers Celebration!

For the past couple of years, Guthrie's '89er Days Celebration has been without two of its most beloved traditions: The Chuck Wagon Feed, and the '89er Rodeo. Because of COVID quarantine issues, these two events had to be canceled, and they were greatly missed.
